Loyalist College Orientation Week 2018

September 3

Orientation Week 2018 begins Monday, September 3, with our Residence Move-In Day! Residence students will move into their rooms with the help of our varsity athletes at the following times:

  • 9 – 11 am: First and Fourth Floors
  • 11 am – 1 pm: Second and Third Floors

Please join us for a complimentary barbecue starting at 11 am.

After a 1:30 pm Residence-wide meeting, pack your bags and get to the bus for Beach Day! We will head to Sandbanks Provincial Park where you can expect beautiful scenery, fun games and great times. Enjoy this opportunity, and meet your new Residence mates from 2 – 6 pm.

September 4 – 7

Get excited for an incredible week of activities! Starting Tuesday, September 4, we are pleased to bring you amazing and engaging programming to enhance your first-week experience:

  • Escape Room
  • The Loyalist Detour
  • Create Your Legend – T-shirt Design
  • Campus Championship
  • Student Government Bingo
  • Student Success Feud
  • Career Possibilities
  • Life-Sized Board Games

Each of these activities will help you learn about the College and build school spirit.

After class, please join us for some fun evening activities:

  • Student Government Pub Nights in the Shark Tank Pub on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
  • Student Government Movies in the Shark Tank Pub on Thursday
  • Campus Rec Activities on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
  • Pep Rally and Carnival on Friday before our very first home opener of the year with our women’s varsity soccer team!

Orientation Week FAQs

Q: What do I need to bring to Orientation?
A: Just bring yourself and your school supplies! Your professors will let you know if you need to bring anything specific. 

Q: Can I sign up for anything?
A: Your program coordinators have put together specific schedules for each program to ensure that you have an amazing Orientation Week.

Q: If I arrive late to Orientation, where do I go?
A: Please go to the location communicated by your program instructors. If you’re not sure where to meet your group or how to get there, our Orientation staff can show you the way.

Q: What if it rains?
A: All of our activities are designed with fallback plans, so weather will not be an issue.

Q: Why should I come to Orientation Week 2018?
A: Orientation Week is an excellent way to get familiar with the College and its services. It also gives you an opportunity to meet your classmates and professors, and to be part of an awesome experience.

Q: Do I have to participate in the evening activities?
A: No, you are not required to participate, but it is recommended that you take full advantage of all available activities.
