Michael Duff

Corporate and Commercial Security Graduate, 2008

IMG_0583“I very much enjoy what I do,” said Security Officer Michael Duff, a facility security analyst for the City of Toronto’s Corporate Security Unit. “A proud moment was when I was given the opportunity to work on the Transit-Secure program, which involved a massive security upgrade of Toronto’s Union Station, and other milestones such as the G20 weekend.”

A 2008 graduate of the Corporate and Commercial Security program at Loyalist College, Michael hit the ground running when he started.

“It was thanks to the in-class material and the field-work experiences I received at Loyalist,” he said. “The calibre of instructors and course material around security auditing and assessments were my favourite aspects of the program. I credit both for my current position.

Michael attended Loyalist College after earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree at university.

“I chose to further my education towards something more practical and applicable,” said Michael. “A college program offers in-demand skills training and education with high chances of immediate employment upon graduation.”

Loyalist’s current Protection, Security and Investigation program continues to meet increasing industry demands for safety, enforcement and investigative services.

“I really enjoyed Loyalist,” said Michael. “It was a great atmosphere. My instructors were incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to spend as much time as was necessary to assist in the learning process.”
