Career Development Certificate Program

The Career Centre has developed a Certificate Program that can be offered in your classroom. This Career Development Certificate Program (CDC) helps student:

  • Build on their job searching strategies throughout their Loyalist career
  • Have a professional resume for part-time and summer job searching
  • Be better prepared for placements
  • Become familiar with The Career Centre and the services offered

The CDC program is currently incorporated into the curriculum of various programs in the college. Faculty using the program has found it to be a successful addition to their Skills for Success, Career Development, Career Preparation, and Portfolio Development courses.  A member of The Career Services team will work with you to create a four-module program that fits the needs of your students. Presentations can usually be completed with two one-hour in-class sessions.

Employer Visits

Would you like to arrange for an employer to visit your class as a Guest Speaker? Career Services may be able to help. We maintain a database of employers who have hired Loyalist Graduates in the past, along with a database of graduates.

Are you conducting an on-site employer visit to market one of your programs? A Career Services team member would be happy to be invited to accompany you on an employer visit.

The Career Centre also has prepared employer packages which can be given as “Thank You” gifts to employers who visit. Let us know when the Employer is going to be on campus and we will have a package prepared for you.

If you receive an inquiry from an employer regarding job postings or student/graduate referrals, please consider directing the employer to Career Services so that we may follow up and offer assistance.
