Our professional staff is available to conduct in-class workshops on career-related topics, including:
- Effective Job Search Strategies
- Resume/Cover Letter Writing
- Interviewing Skills

Career Development Certificate Program
The Career Centre has developed a Certificate Program that can be offered in your classroom. This Career Development Certificate Program (CDC) helps student:
- Build on their job searching strategies throughout their Loyalist career
- Have a professional resume for part-time and summer job searching
- Be better prepared for placements
- Become familiar with The Career Centre and the services offered
The CDC program is currently incorporated into the curriculum of various programs in the college. Faculty using the program has found it to be a successful addition to their Skills for Success, Career Development, Career Preparation, and Portfolio Development courses. A member of The Career Services team will work with you to create a four-module program that fits the needs of your students. Presentations can usually be completed with two one-hour in-class sessions.

Teaching Resources
Make use of the resources available in Career Services to help your students to become engaged in the career planning process while enhancing their academic skills. We have a variety of career related materials that you may use as teaching resources including books, magazines, and Tip Sheets. Visit The Career Centre to view the resources available.
Experiential Learning Resources With Riipen
We are excited to partner with Riipen, an experiential learning platform and marketplace for project-based learning. Riipen gives faculty the flexibility to embed experiential learning into courses and provides the tools for students to work as a team on real-world problems.
Riipen is available for all faculty, in all disciplines, working with all levels of students, in-class, online experiences, and remote internships. Riipen offers end-to-end support, including course project ideation and design, technical support and student onboarding, and matchmaking with industry partners globally.

Employer Visits
Would you like to arrange for an employer to visit your class as a Guest Speaker? Career Services may be able to help. We maintain a database of employers who have hired Loyalist Graduates in the past, along with a database of graduates.
Are you conducting an on-site employer visit to market one of your programs? A Career Services team member would be happy to be invited to accompany you on an employer visit.
The Career Centre also has prepared employer packages which can be given as “Thank You” gifts to employers who visit. Let us know when the Employer is going to be on campus and we will have a package prepared for you.
Employer Inquiries
If you receive an inquiry from an employer regarding job postings or student/graduate referrals, please consider directing the employer to Career Services so that we may follow up and offer assistance.

On-Campus Jobs
Does your department hire students for on-campus jobs? Did you know that most student wages are covered under the Ontario Work Study Program? Please contact the Financial Aid Office at your campus for more information on this program.

Job Fairs & Events
Career Services organizes a number of Job Fairs & Events throughout the year to provide Loyalist students and graduates with the opportunity to meet with key employers.
We also conduct Job Fair Preparation workshops and operate Drop-In Résumé Critique Clinics to help students increase their chances of Job Fair success.
