College Proud to Host Relay for Life

June 26, 2012

There was a great show of community support at the Relay for Life held at Loyalist on Friday night and Saturday morning. Loyalist President Maureen Piercy brought greetings on behalf of the College to the inspirational event. More than $230,000 was raised to help in the fight to eradicate cancer.

Some 1,500 luminaries were lit as members of 73 teams, including 188 survivors, circled the track throughout the night.

Hosted by the College, the event was organized by the Hastings-Prince Edward unit of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Congratulations to all Relay for Life participants, sponsors, and volunteers!

Loyalist College President Maureen Piercy welcomes the crowd to the campus in uniform as HCol Piercy, 8 Air Communication & Control Squadron (8 ACCS).
